Welcome to our website. We are dedicated to bringing you our personal opinion on where to eat in NJ. Areas will cover mainly the northern region near New York City, and will cover a wide range from fast food restaurants to fine dining. This website will only include places that we've personally eaten at, so we can give you a first hand account of what you may expect when eating at a particular restaurant.

Types of Restaurants

We're going to break down the site into different areas.

Fast food - includes both take out, sit down, and drive thru service restaurants where 2 people will usually spend an average of $10-15 for a meal. Besides the favorites that everyone knows, we're going to include others such as sandwich shops, Chinese and pizza parlors.

Semi-casual - includes the sit down restaurants which advertise on tv such as Chili's, TGIF, Bennigans, and Applebees.

Buffets - this section will only include restaurants that are exclusively buffets. Some sit down restaruants may offer brunch or lunch buffets, but for dinner are normal menu ordering restaurants. These will not be included here.

Casual - nicer restaurants that are more personal and do not advertise on television. These will include smaller Italian, Japanese or Chinese sit-down, or any other fancier type of restuarant that may be nationality specific. Places like these will usually cost between $15-30 a meal for two.

Formal - restaurants that usually cost $50 or higher for a meal for two. Most of these will require a tie for men, and formal dress for women. We do not frequent these too often, but for the price, we're going to be very particular in reviewing these places.

What are we Looking for?

Restaurants will be listed by city, staying in NJ only. We're going to break down the restaurants in several categories.

Food quality - The main reason anyone goes to a restaurant is to eat, so food quality is extremely important. This will go for portion size, appearance, smell, and taste.

Service - When you go to a restaurant, you will have to deal with at least one person upon your visit. This will cover attitude towards customer, appearance, attitude towards co-workers, quickness of service, and overall attention to the customer.

Cleanliness - We'll break down the cleanliness into two sections. One will be the overall appearance of the restaurant, both inside and outside, along with possibly the kitchen area if you can see it. The other is going to cover the bathroom, which personally is extremely important.

Price - Many people are concerned with price when going out. So we're going to cover the average price of a meal, whether or not we thought they were overpriced or if it was a good bargain, whether or not there are specials and so forth. We're trying to save you money while giving you great recommendations at the same time.

Miscellaneous - This will be anything else I can think of. This may also include some things that happen during a particular visit. I may include whether or not a restaurant is child friendly, or mention that children should not be brought there. We'll see what develops with this section.
