Garden Pizza
153 Bergen Blvd
Fairview, NJ 07022

Food quality - overall they have high quality food with fresh ingredients

Service - service is good with a friendly staff

Cleanliness - restaurant is well maintained, front area for quick eating, and a back dining area for sit down meals

Price - price is average for pizza

Misc - their Marguerita pizza is excellent. It's usually what I will order, or my other choice is Sicilian. Grade: A-

Johnny's II
257 Bergen Blvd
Fairview, NJ 07022

Food quality - the one time I ate here, I wasn't too impressed. Pizza was overcooked. Other people I've talked to have also said they're not impressed with the quality of pizza

Service - service was good for the most part. Staff was friendly

Cleanliness - restaurant was relatively clean. Did not use the bathroom

Price - average price, though seemed high for the quality given. They also have a special advertised in the window, though I can't remember what it was

Misc - was not too impressed with this place, and with Garden Pizza 1/4 mile down the road, there's no contest on where I will eat. Grade: C

El Vitamina Pizza (formerly Donna's)
8201 Tonnele Ave
North Bergen, NJ 07047

Food quality - the couple of times I have eaten here, the overall quality was pretty good

Service - staff was friendly, with relatively fast delivery

Cleanliness - restaurant was well maintained. Have not used the bathroom

Price - I found their restaurant to be more expensive than other pizzerias. For this reason I avoided eating here.

Misc - I have not tried this place since change of ownership

Perfect Pizza
6229 Kennedy Blvd
North Bergen, NJ 07047

Food quality - another pizza parlor that I've bought from for many years. The quality has always been on the good side, especially the Sicilian pizza

Service - fast, friendly service inside the restaurant. Delivery is also fast and friendly with no minimum to deliver

Cleanliness - overall maintained well in the dining area. Have never used the bathroom

Price - another reasonable, average price for the quality given

Misc - overall I recommend this place for both delivery, take out, and dine in. Good food and friendly service keep me coming back. Grade: A-

Circle Pizza
550 Broad Ave
Ridgefield, NJ 07657

Food quality - pizza tastes good when it's fresh. Reheating it the next day loses some flavor

Service - friendly service, especially from the owner, Harry. I've been coming here since the mid-1990s and have recommended this place to many people

Cleanliness - well maintained dining area and bathroom is clean

Price - a little higher price than other pizza parlors. Has a special after 5pm, 2 large pies for $14.99

Misc - will have coupons in the local magazines, flyers, and Entertainment book from time to time. Restaurant also includes Blimpies and Coney Island Hot Dogs, so you have more of a variety. Grade: A-

Hot Pizza
2104 Kennedy Blvd
Union City, NJ 07087

Food quality - pizza is average. Sauce is a little bland for my taste. I usually add spices on top

Service - friendly service from staff. Television for the customers' enjoyment

Cleanliness - overall is clean, though may have a table not wiped down once in awhile

Price - can't beat the price. $5.99 for a large pie, take out only. This is on the top of my list for buying. Once in awhile will have a coupon to get 2 pies for $10.99, which is even cheaper!

Misc - with the added spices, it is overall a good deal for the portion you get. Not the best tasting, but I still recommend this, especially to feed many kids, or if you are on a budget. Grade: B

Sam's Pizza
2120 Kennedy Blvd
Union City, NJ 07087

Food quality - slightly better than Hot Pizza, but still not high quality like others we've eaten at. Pizza has now become cardboard thin

Service - friendly service, relatively fast with the food

Cleanliness - clean overall with the occasional unwiped table

Price - another great deal with a large pie take out special at $6.99

Misc - this pizza parlor is one block from Hot Pizza, each on the corner. I think the low price for the large pies is a price war. How the town allowed 2 parlors to open so close to each other is beyond me. What surprises me more is that both can stay in business. Again, a great way to feed kids for little money or on a budget. Though I think Hot Pizza is better with $1 less for the pie with about the same quality. Grade: C+

Luna's Pizzeria
5404 Park Ave
West New York, NJ 07093

Food quality - overall pretty good pizza, though I haven't been there in awhile. Growing up, I used to eat here many times, probably 100 in my life

Service - received friendly service, especially from Luna. Luna passed away I believe in 2005 or so. What a shame

Cleanliness - was always well maintained. Never used the bathroom

Price - price was fair for what was being given

Misc - my critique on this restaurant is a little outdated. The place has been totally renovated and now has a new staff overall, if not completely. Grade is based on my former experiences. Grade: A-

Sal's Pizzeria
6127 Bergenline Ave
West New York, NJ 07093

Food quality - extremely great quality of pizza. Also has the finest muscles. I've loved this place since I was a little kid

Service - great service, pretty fast delivery, friendly staff

Cleanliness - overall is clean

Price - higher than other pizza parlors, though I believe is worth the extra buck

Misc - has to rank top 3 of all time for best tasting pizza with me. Recommended eating. Grade: A
